Welcome

Welcome to the website of the New Zealand Essential Tremor Support Group. This website has been set up to provide information and support for people affected by Essential Tremor.

Essential Tremor (ET) is a neurological disorder that causes a rhythmic shaking of the arms or other body parts, often misdiagnosed as Parkinson's disease. Here you can find a description of Essential Tremor and links to medical and research information.

You can also learn more about the support group and read personal stories by people affected by ET.

Annual Brain Day in March

Usually held in both Auckland and Dunedin, each year's Brain Day presents expert lectures, panel discussions, workshops, stands manned by community health groups, and entertaining and instructional events and demonstrations all about the brain and the most recent research into neurological disorders. It's always a rewarding experience, and the NZ Essential Tremor Support Group is always a part. Please come and join us.
